Dakshineswar Kali Temple, this is a Hindu temple in Kolkata on the eastern banks of river Hooghly, a temple of Kali meaning She who liberates Her devotees from the ocean of existence.

this temple is built in 1855 by Rani Rashmoni, she is a philanthropist and devotee of Goddess Kali, this temple is very famous in Kolkata

The Architecture of this temple is built in the traditional Nava Ratna or Nine spires style of Bengal architecture, the grabha girha houses an idol of goddess kali. this idol is placed in the middle of a thousand-petaled silver plated lotus

Rahi Rashmoni built this temple because once she decided to go for a long pilgrimage to the sacred Hindu city of Kashi to express her devotions to the divine mother
